Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles

The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in LA(Consul General Youngwan Kim), announced the signing of an agreement to support the establishment of a K-pop course as a regular elective in the LA Unified School District.

The K-pop course, aiming for launch in the fall semester of 2024, will emphasize music and entertainment marketing, providing an opportunity for students to explore Korea as a cultural powerhouse through the global phenomenon of K-pop.

The Korean Consulate General in LA has been collaborating for the past year to facilitate the course establishment. Currently, the LAUSD has approved the curriculum and awaits UC accreditation for college admission consideration.
